I can't believe it August 29, 2010 Aubin (Seattle, WA) It's been so embarrassing driving around with my faded yellow head lights! I honestly thought these kits were nothing more than superficial and would not do good work. While having my truck serviced two weeks ago, the repair guy tried to con me to let them retore my headlights for a bargain price of $129.00. (!!!) He must have been kidding me, I mean like, really? I decided to try this kit since my lights were so dark and hazy that the only light emitted was a brownish yellow faded blur. After 15 minutes total time for both lights, I cannot believe I had not done this sooner! I am no longer embarrassed! This kit is a must if you want clear headlights and can be bought locally at Walmart. See my photos for this item I uploaded.
My 16-year-old lenses look brand new! August 24, 2010 Wanderer (Bend, OR & Greenville, SC) My car has been babied for most of its life but the headlight lenses were sort of dingy and didn't seem to let much light through. A clerk at O'Reilly's recommended this Turtle Wax Headlight Restorer over more expensive alternatives. I was dubious at best but I bought it.
Based on the other reviews and the instructions, I assumed I'd be at it for an entire afternoon. Got my chair. Got my beverages of choice. When I finished both lenses in under 30 minutes I thought I'd done something wrong and reviewed the instructions. Nope! I was fine and the lenses make the car look like new again.
The amount in the bottle is more than enough to do two or three sets of lights so bring a friend or two to share the stuff. Had I realized it was easy, there was plenty of product, and the results were great, I could'a had a headlight party!
It is great product!!! August 23, 2010 Jinwoo Lee (San Jose, CA) It worked as it described. I used compounds only and after new minutes, it made my headlights looked just new!!! It is really amazing!
Awsome Results August 19, 2010 JDB1993 This is an amazing product. I used it on my 1999 Mustang and it turned out great. just don't expect for a full recovery of the clarity of the lenses.
Works as hard as you do August 19, 2010 phouriga 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product prompted me to write my first-ever review.
I have a '03 Jetta whose crusty headlights failed its first PA inspection (but somehow it passed a second time). The garage that failed the car wanted $75 per headlight to do essentially what this product does for $7.99.
Other reviewers give this product a high rating and I agree. I was skeptical though because the Restorer Kit was so inexpensive. Spend a lot of time with the #1 grit (the coarsest of the four) to see the best results. I ended up repeating the sanding process because I thought I could get better results if I simply worked a little harder, and I was right. If you put the effort into the sanding you will get almost-new looking headlights. It took me about an hour to get to a Good Enough for Government Work gloss.
Can't wait to take it for a test drive in the dark. This is a great product to throw into your cart if you need something extra to get free shipping.
